Long-Distance Moves

Moving long-distance is a lot different than moving across town.  After everything is loaded on the truck, it may be a few days before you see it again, depending on how long the trip is.   There is also a chance that there will be another shipment moving cross-country on the same truck, which can also add some time between locations.  Not to worry though, you'll be given a delivery date that is quick and dependable, whether it's in California, or anywhere else in the USA.

A complete inventory will be taken of all boxes, furniture and other items before being loaded on the truck.  Each item is tagged with a number so that you know everything is there when it is delivered.  Usually there will be a different crew of movers to unload, than the ones who loaded everything on, but the driver will always be the same at each end of the trip.  If you are moving within the western United States, D.W. Ewing Movers can usually handle your move from start to finish.  For longer, cross-country moves, a driver for American Red Ball Van Lines will be scheduled, rather than one of our drivers at D.W. Ewing Movers.

The first step to take if you are planning a long-distance move is to call us to schedule an estimate.  Estimates are required for all long-distance moves.  The cost of the move will be determined based on the size of the shipment and the distance it is traveling.  After an estimate is completed for your move, you will be given a guaranteed price that will not be exceeded.
